Data Deletion Policy & User Sovereignty

💡 100% Client-Side Data Architecture: HairTrack operates entirely on your device with no remote servers or cloud accounts. This means you do not need to wait for a developer to process an account deletion request—you can completely, irreversibly erase all data instantly at any time.

1. How to Delete Individual Items Within the App

You have continuous granular control over every record you create in HairTrack:

Delete a Daily Journal Entry: Open the Journal tab, locate the entry, tap the delete trash can icon, and confirm. The SQLite row is permanently erased immediately.
Delete a Progress Photo: Open the Photos tab, tap the trash can icon on the photograph, and confirm. Both the SQLite database record and the actual image file on your device storage are immediately and permanently deleted.
Delete a Routine Habit: Open the Routines tab, tap the habit you wish to remove, tap the delete icon in the top right, and confirm. The routine item and all associated check-off history are permanently deleted.

2. How to Perform a Complete Factory Data Wipe

If you wish to delete all HairTrack data at once (all journal entries, all progress photos, all routine habits, notification settings, and onboarding preferences), you can execute any of the following methods:

Method A: Clear Storage via Android Settings (Recommended)

Open your device’s Settings app.
Navigate to Apps (or Apps & Notifications → See all apps).
Select HairTrack from the list.
Tap Storage & Cache.
Tap Clear Storage (or Clear Data) and confirm.

Result: This immediately destroys the local SQLite database, clears all shared preferences, and purges all progress photographs from disk.

Method B: Uninstall the Application

Touch and hold the HairTrack app icon on your home screen or app drawer.
Tap Uninstall (or drag the icon to Uninstall) and confirm.

Result: Android removes the application package and completely destroys the app’s private sandboxed data directory, including all photos, database files, and scheduled notification alarms.

3. Zero Server Retention Guarantee

Because HairTrack does not maintain user accounts or transmit your data to any remote cloud servers, there are zero backup copies or residual server logs retained anywhere when you delete data from your device.
